Speaker Introduction:Graduated from the Piano and Composition Departments of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 1981, studying under Professor Chen Gang, composer of "The Butterfly Lovers." Her graduation work was performed by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. She then joined the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra's composition group and also served as a music reporter for the General Political Department's "Voice of the Strait" radio station. In 1986, she was named an "Outstanding Reporter for Cross-Strait Broadcasts." In 1985, she went to the United States to study and obtained a Master's degree in Composition and a Doctorate in Music Education. In 1992, she held a solo concert at Carnegie Hall in New York, becoming hailed as the first Chinese person to perform at Carnegie Hall. She has worked as an associate professor at New York University, Pace University, Manhattanville College, and Brigham Young University. She has long been engaged in international cultural, artistic, and educational exchanges and currently serves as the president of the US-China Cultural and Artistic Exchange Association.
Lecture Summary:I. Based in China, with a global perspective, (1) Establish cultural confidence. Deeply understand the core values of Chinese culture, (2) Integrate wisdom and vision. Combine Chinese philosophical wisdom with a global perspective; II. Cultivate global competence and cross-cultural leadership.
